Toronto kills program created to extend life of older streetcars after it exceeds budget and falls short of target


The TTC spent $26 million to keep 30 aging streetcars on the road but quickly fell behind on the planned repairs. It completed work on 20 cars but the vehicles are so unreliable, it can get only two or three into service every day.
