Living in ‘fear and limbo’: Migrant caregivers call for landed status upon arrival in new report


The federal Caregiver Program expires in Nov. 2019 leaving tens of thousands racialized women who came to Canada in limbo. Meanwhile, care workers frequently face forced family separations, exploitative working conditions and exorbitant legal fees because their status is precarious, the report found.
