Jonathan Ross on The Celebrity Traitors last monthWarning: This article contains spoilers for last week’s episodes of The Celebrity Traitors.Jonathan Ross has opened up more about some of the discomfort he felt while taking part in The Celebrity Traitors. The legendary talk show host was one of three “Traitors” assigned by Claudia Winkleman at the beginning of the series, and after initially surviving “banishment”, he was finally given his marching orders by the rest of the group last week.Over the course of the series, Jonathan has spoken candidly about not finding his time on the show the easiest, which he reiterated during an interview on Loose Women following his exit. When anchor Kaye Adams praised him for “playing a blinder” and treating the show “as a game”, he responded: “I tried to, but to be honest with you, it did really get to me.“Even though you are playing a game, and you have to keep reminding yourself it’s a game, I really did struggle with it.”Jonathan Ross on Loose Women last weekJonathan continued: “I really found it very uncomfortable quite a lot of the time, and it was more because… you’re sitting there and they’re all really nice people, but you have to lie to all of them.“And it was all the time, as well, that was the weird thing. It wasn’t just the bits you saw on TV, but when we were travelling in the cars sometimes in the morning, someone would start talking about it, and so you’d be lying then, when everyone’s relaxed and being themselves, and you’re still [lying].”He then admitted: “It wasn’t difficult to do it, particularly, it was just uncomfortable. Because I knew I couldn’t say, ‘you’re right [I am a “Traitor”’!. You couldn’t relax. And also… you see less of this than we felt, because obviously it was very visceral for us because we’re in the room with them, but when people were being banished, there was emotion, there was genuine emotion.“To be accused of something that you know is not true – you know, you are a ‘Faithful’ – and everyone you know that you’ve been getting on really well with, they all seem to think you’re not… there was more emotion on display that we saw.“And I’m sitting there knowing I’ve engineered that moment, and I’m going, ‘oh, it’s a shame you’re going’ – and I know in 10 minutes they’re going to see my name written on a piece of paper.”Of his own elimination, Jonathan said his main emotion about it was “just relief”.“I genuinely felt relief,” he insisted. “When I travelled home from Scotland on the plane, that was the happiest I’ve been in my entire life.“Also I’d missed my wife tremendously, and I’d missed being in contact with my kids. I had been able to speak to my wife, they allowed me to have a brief phone call every morning, but somebody from production would come in with their phone. We’ve never had a day when we didn’t speak to each other, because why would we? And we’re not away from each other very often, but if we are, we speak several times a day on the phone, so it was less than I would have liked.”Just one episode remains in the inaugural series of The Celebrity Traitors, with Alan Carr and Cat Burns remaining as the only two “Traitors” left.Find out who wins during Wednesday’s final, airing at 9pm on BBC One. Loose Women airs every weekday at 12.30pm on ITV1.READ MORE:Jonathan Ross Gives His Unfiltered Opinion On His Fellow Celebrity TraitorsCelebrity Traitors Fans Can’t Get Enough Of Alan Carr’s ‘Faithful’ Slip-UpCelia Imrie’s 2-Word Reaction To Discovering Alan Carr Is A Celebrity Traitor Is Perfect
