Rhea Seehorn as Carol in PluribusIf the reviews are anything to go by, the Apple TV+ drama Pluribusis about to become the next big TV series. From Vince Gilligan, the same creator as Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, the sci-fi thriller centres around “the most miserable person on Earth” in the form of romance author Carol Sturka, who is played by Rhea Seehorn.Carol has the small task of trying to save humanity before they fall victim to hive mind happiness manufactured by some shady extraterrestrial activity.Rhea has already been widely praised for her powerful central performance as Carol, with plenty of critics saying she’s surely a shoo-in for an Emmy award, having missed out earlier on in her career.Pluribus sees Rhea reunite with the team behind Better Call Saul after she (and her ponytail!) became famous for playing Kim Wexler, the lawyer and love interest of title character Saul. She was Emmy-nominated for her depiction of the fan-favourite character, but while Better Call Saul may have been her breakthrough moment, there are some roles you might have forgotten about…I’m With Her (2003)One of Rhea’s first on-screen appearances was in the early 2000s sitcom I’m With Her.The comedy followed a school teacher, Patrick, who has a chance run-in with an A-list movie star, and ends up dating her. This is all much to the chagrin of her doubting sister Cheri, played by Rhea. It all sounds very Notting Hill, right?Ultimately, the series didn’t leave much of an impression, and was cancelled after one season after dwindling ratings, leaving a cliffhanger ending unresolved. The Shaggy Dog (2006)It might sound like something from a fever dream, but the early 2000s really was a time when a film revolving around Tim Allen routinely turning into a sheepdog as he goes head-to-head with an evil doctor played by Robert Downey Jr. could get made.Said film, The Shaggy Dog, also featured Rhea as a lawyer named Lori who is subject to some dog-like shenanigans when Tim’s character Dave is fighting the urge to transform into the pooch in court. Bring back the golden age of cinema, we say.Burn Notice (2010)In 2010, Rhea made an appearance in an episode of the critically acclaimed crime drama Burn Notice. Her character, Patty, gets embroiled in an embezzlement scheme that snowballs into a hostage situation at a local bank, a role that would prepare her well for her future on-screen dealings with unscrupulous characters.Whitney (2011)Rhea Seehorn as Roxanne in WhitneyRhea dipped her toe back into the sitcom world in 2011, when she appeared in comedian Whitney Cummings’ self-titled scripted series, which portrayed a fictionalised version of the title character’s life.In the show, Rhea played Roxanne Harris, a divorcee and the best friend-turned-boss of Whitney’s character. The show also featured comedian and actor Chris D’Elia and, bizarrely, a guest stint from John Cleese as a couples therapist, but ultimately came to an end after two seasons.Franklin Bash (2011)Another contribution to the oeuvre of “on-screen duos fighting crime”, 2011’s Franklin Bash revolved around offbeat lawyers and childhood friends Jared Franklin and Peter Bash (played by Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar) as they bring their stamp to a fusty law firm. Rhea starred in seasons one, three and four of the buddy drama series as a district attorney who has a dalliance with Jared. The show was cancelled in 2014, but found a new audience when streaming giant Netflix picked it up earlier this year in the US.The Thick Of It (2007)Rhea Seehorn joined John Michael Higgins and Henry Winkler in the unsuccessful US remake of The Thick Of ItWhen the US tried to do their own version of Peter Capaldi’s political satire The Thick Of It in 2007, it’s fair to say the project was a bit of a flop. Rhea appeared in the ABC pilot worked up by American writers as aspiring speechwriter Ollie Tadzio, but ultimately the remake wasn’t actually picked up by the network, despite involvement from Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz and acclaimed director Christopher Guest.Veep (2019)The failure of the Thick Of It remake did end up paving the way for a much more successful series, Veep. The Thick Of It’s original writer – Armando Iannucci – was behind the wheel once again, and this time far from being a flop, the series took off and has since made “best of TV” lists far and wide and earned a tonne of Emmys in its trail.Rhea appeared in season seven of the show as Tom James’ (Hugh Laurie) deputy campaign manager Michelle York, with her character having an affair with the charismatic senator, marking a full-circle moment for Rhea after the initial Thick Of It disappointment. The Twilight Zone (2019)Also in 2019, Rhea teamed up with comedian and filmmaker Jordan Peele for his twisty anthology series The Twilight Zone, a reboot of the original 1959 show. With each instalment of the anthology acting as a self-contained story, Rhea appeared in season one for the episode Not All Men, playing a character named Martha. The episode told the story of a meteor shower that mysteriously causes all the men who interacted with said meteors to become increasingly violent. Things Heard Seen (2021)Working with Get Out director Jordan Peele may have given Rhea a taste for horror, as one of her next projects was Netflix spooky flick Things Heard Seen in 2021. She played Justine, the colleague of lead character Catherine (portrayed by Amanda Seyfried), who plays a pivotal role in the creepy events that unfold in the film. Things Heard Seen didn’t make huge waves and was largely brushed off by the critics, but it boasted an impressive cast and put Rhea in front of another huge Netflix audience.Linoleum (2022)If you’re up on your sci-fi comedies you might have spotted Rhea in the 2022 film Linoleum. The movie tells the story of middle-aged astronomer and host of a failing science show Cameron, played by comedian Jim Gaffigan, who decides to build a rocket ship.Rhea plays his unimpressed wife Erin, who is in the process of divorcing him, with the film picking up good reviews for its offbeat topic and strong performances.Bad Boys: Ride Or Die (2024)A slightly left-field perhaps, but who doesn’t want to be in a Bad Boys film?Rhea was back in the buddy cop genre for the fourth instalment of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s Bad Boys films. She stars as US Marshal Judy, who is avenging her father Captain Conrad Howard and hellbent on tracking down Will and Martin’s characters Mike and Marcus. The first three episodes of Pluribus are now streaming on Apple TV+, with new instalments dropping every Friday.MORE TV NEWS:Our 11 Top Picks Of The New Shows And Films To Stream On Netflix This NovemberCritics Are Saying Netflix s Addictive New Thriller Is Your Next Binge-WatchAll The Places You ve Seen The Stars Of The Divisive New Legal Drama All s Fair Before
