Cliff Richard Discloses He Recently Underwent Prostate Cancer Treatment

Cliff Richard being interviewed on Monday s Good Morning BritainSir Cliff Richard has shared that he has undergone treatment for prostate cancer in the last year.During an interview aired on Monday’s edition of Good Morning Britain, the 85-year-old recalled how he received his diagnosis after a routine test.“I was about to embark on a tour which in fact ended this time at the Royal Albert Hall,” he told Dermot Murnaghan, who is currently undergoing prostate cancer treatment himself.Sir Cliff continued: “I was going to Australia and to New Zealand and the promoter said, ’for your insurance, you need to be checked up for something’. They found that I had prostate cancer.“But the good fortune was that it was not very old and the other thing is that it has not metastasised. Nothing had moved into bones or anything like that.”The Brit Award winner then disclosed: “The cancer’s gone at the moment. I don’t know whether it’s going to come back. We can’t tell those sorts of things. But we need to, absolutely, I’m convinced, get there, get tested, get checked.“We, as men, have got to start saying it, we’ve got to be seen as human beings who may die of this thing.”Sir Cliff Richard pictured at Wimbledon in July 2025Sir Cliff added that he thought it was “absolutely ridiculous” that a national screening programme for prostate cancer is not currently in place, despite it being the most prevalent form of cancer among men.“We all deserve to have the same ability to have a test,” he stated. “Our government must listen to us.”The chart-topping singer lamented: “We have governments to look after our country and those who live in that country, so I can’t see how you can say, ‘Oh we can do this, we can do that, but we don’t do this for these people’.”Watch more of Sir Cliff Richard’s Good Morning Britain interview below:Sir Cliff Richard has revealed to Good Morning Britain that he #39;s had successful treatment for prostate cancer.
