Lily Collins as Emily in the popular Netflix series, Emily In Paris.Emily is hanging out in Rome for a little while longer in the new season of Emily In Paris.Netflix has shared the release date for season five of the “love it or hate it” show along with a new trailer teasing some of the escapades the title character – played by Lily Collins – will be getting into, namely leg touching, snogging, riding mopeds, partying, and of course, outfits. Emily In Paris will start streaming on Thursday 18 December, with our protagonist spending more time in Rome, where we left her in season four. Straddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level,” the show’s creator Darren Star said before assuring fans: “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome. It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris.”Emily (Lily Collins) and Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini)If the new trailer and show stills are anything to go by, it seems like we’re also in for another round of the on-screen love triangle between Emily (Lily), Marcello (Eugenio) and longstanding on/off love interest Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). Gabriel was last seen at the end of season four, realising (too late) he did in fact want to be with Emily after all. However Lily has teased that in the new series “Gabriel has to deal with the repercussions of his choice” and explained that her character’s storyline with Marcello allows her to have “a better work-life balance”. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time,” she added. Meanwhile additions to the cast include Good Will Hunting and Will Grace star Minnie Driver, who will play Princess Jane, a friend of Emily’s boss Sylvie who married into a royal family.
