Joe Marler with Celebrity Traitors host Claudia WinklemanJoe Marler has admitted there was one aspect of The Celebrity Traitors that he had some difficulty with.So far, the inaugural line-up for The Celebrity Traitors has more than lived up to our expectations, from Alan Carr’schaotic-yet-effective energy as a “Traitor” to Celia Imrie’s unexpected comedy and an entertainingly awful bunch of “Faithfuls”.However, during an interview on Jamie Laing’s Great Company podcast, Joe – who can currently be seen in action as a “Faithful” on the series – admitted that he felt “incredibly uncomfortable” doing the “bonkers” show because of his relative anonymity among his fellow contestants.“In the rugby world, rugby’s massive. You’re in it and you go ‘This is a big thing’. Everyone knows about rugby, you think it’s massive,” he explained to the former Made In Chelsea star.Elaborating on his fellow celebrities being less clued up on rugby, he said: “You come out of it [and] go into [the] normal world and then they go ‘Who are you then? What do you do?’. And I go ‘I used to play rugby’. They’re like ‘Oh right, league or union or what sort of thing?’” Joe Marler pictured in the Celebrity Traitors castleRather than taking any offence, Joe insisted it was actually “really good” to “have a bit of perspective”.“Getting confused for being the sound guy or in charge of the props was [one of] many of my highlights,” he laughed.“It was one of the best experiences. For a fan of the show [...] it didn’t disappoint. Doing it was some of the best fun I’ve ever had.”Joe is currently safe as a “Faithful” despite the celebrities having a 100% failure rate at the round tables, banishing only fellow “Faithfuls” so far and letting current “Traitors” Jonathan Ross, Cat Burns and Alan Carr continue to fly under the radar.Meanwhile viewers were left on tenterhooks after last night’s episode, which saw a Traitors first as the vote was split between historian David Olusoga and actor Mark Bonnar. The Celebrity Traitors continues on Thursday night at 9pm on BBC One.READ MORE:Everything We Know About That Celebrity Traitors Roundtable TiebreakThe Latest Celebrity Traitors Round Table Had Everyone Shouting The Same Thing At The TVCelebrity Traitors Star Opens Up About Unseen Alan Carr Moments Viewers Are Missing Out On
