Kanye Ye West and Kim Kardashian pictured in 2019Kim Kardashian is reflecting on the breakdown of her relationship with her ex-husband Ye, better known as the rapper Kanye West.The former couple were married for eight years between 2014 and 2022, and share four children.During a lengthy interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the reality star, law student and actor was asked about some of her past relationships, including her marriage to the Grammy-winning rapper.Referring to her ex-husband’s well-documented struggles with his mental health, she continued: “I think when someone has their first mental break, you know, you want to be super supportive and you want to help figure that out and you want to really get into that with them, and and be there for them.”“It makes it really hard to continue on in a relationship that can be toxic,” she continued. “When you have kids, it’s definitely harder to leave than it is to stay. And it changes everyone’s life forever.”Kim Kardashian appearing on the podcast Call Her DaddyAsked if there was a “final straw” that led to her ending the relationship, Kim explained: “I didn’t like the feeling of someone talking bad about my kids, grandmother, aunts – all of those feelings. If someone feels that way, then we shouldn’t be together.”She also pointed out that Ye aired “a lot of personal stuff” from their marriage while they were still together, and that his behaviour would leave her “not feeling safe”.“Not even physically – just, like, maybe emotionally, or even financially,” she clarified.“We had, like, five Lamborghinis, and I’d come home and they’d all be gone if he was [having a mental health] episode. And I’d be like, ‘Oh, wait. Where are all of our cars? Like, my new car?’.
