Thomas Skinner performing with his Strictly Come Dancing partner Amy Dowden earlier in the seriesFormer Strictly Come Dancing star Thomas Skinner has claimed he wishes he’d “never done” the show.The former Apprentice candidate is one of 15 stars on the original line-up of this year’s season of Strictly, but as soon as he was confirmed for the cast, he proved to be a controversial signing.The TV personality had previously raised eyebrows with comments suggesting that London doesn’t “feel like London” anymore, accusing protestors of “tearing communities apart”, praising US president Donald Trump and posing for a picture with vice president JD Vance.In the lead-up to his dance floor debut, the furore surrounding Thomas only continued after he stormed out of this year’s Strictly press launch, and found himself back in the headlines days later following the revelation that he had been unfaithful to his wife in the early stages of their marriage.Eventually, Thomas became the first star to be eliminated from the series, and in a post shared to X on Wednesday, he admitted he regrets taking part at all.Thomas and Amy performing their first routine of the series“I’ve had enough of all this [bollocks],” he wrote. “I can’t do anything right now without someone [criticising me] or making me do something against my will. It’s bullshit.”Thomas continued: “I wish [I’d] never done strictly, I never fitted the bill for that show, let’s be honest. And it’s caused me nothing but agg. Constant abuse.“All I fuckin’ do is try to spread positivity online. I can’t walk anywhere without people knowing who I am. I’ve had a narrative spun against me so people always have an opinion on me now that they didn’t three months ago. I’ve heard so many lies said and told about me. It’s driving me mad.“I’ve had a constant pile-on of abuse over the last month like I’m a mass murderer. It’s bullshit. I went out to work in my van this morning and I’m either getting beeped at or people putting their thumb up at me. I’ve honestly had enough.“Now people I’ve supported my whole life are starting to turn on me because they see what’s going on online. It ain’t real life. I think I need to take a break and [concentrate] on me and my family. Because I ain’t one to admit I’m struggling. But I am.
