Lily Allen Gets Candid About Her Romantic Life Following Her Split From David Harbour

Lily Allen in New York last monthLily Allen is opening up about her current relationship status following her split from her ex-husband David Harbour. The award-winning singer and Stranger Things actor were married for around four years before parting ways at the end of 2024, with the tumultuous end of their relationship serving as the inspiration for Lily’s latest album West End Girl. While promoting the new release, the Not Fair singer recently spoke to Interview magazine, where editor Mel Ottenberg asked if she was “dating anyone” now she’s single again.“Maybe,” Lily replied with a laugh, before sharing her experience of dating apps.“They’re awful, especially if you’re going through heartbreak,” she said. “There is nothing more depressing than hundreds of people that are nothing like the person that you’re missing. It’s just like, ‘No, that’s not him. That’s not him. That’s not him’.”She later clarified: “I’m not in a relationship, but there are some people that I meet up with.”During a recent interview with Perfect magazine, Lily shared: “It’s hard for me to not have my person, you know? And I am quite a codependent person. And I find it difficult to lean on the people who are available to me when I’m missing the comfort and stability of what is not available to me.”She continued: “I thought it was happily ever after, you know? And guess what? The dating scene is much harder as a 40-year-old woman with two teenage children than it is for a 34-year-old woman. It’s bitterly disappointing.“There’s an element of humiliation and shame around it. The world doesn’t portray women of my age as being desirable. And it just feels like climbing up a mountain. But also, at the same time, I’m like, I don’t have to get involved with it. But something in me says that I do.”“Being in a relationship is not the answer to all of my problems,” she then added. “In fact, it’s probably the opposite. But it feels like the easier option. But also quite hard to achieve in this current climate.”Lily’s recently-released fifth album has been lauded by critics, with the Official Charts Company revealing earlier this week that she is currently on track to have three songs from West End Girl – Pussy Palace, Madeline and the album’s title track – chart within the top 40 this week. The album itself is on course to hit number four based solely on digital sales and streams.READ MORE:On The Jaw-Dropping West End Girl, Lily Allen Sets A New Bar For The Confessional Break-Up AlbumWoman Claiming To Have Inspired Lily Allen s Madeline Reacts To The SongLily Allen Insists Her Latest Release West End Girl Is Not A Revenge Album
