La Voix at this year s TV BaftasStrictly Come Dancing favourite La Voix has lifted the lid on how she accidentally became embroiled in the UK’s biggest ever jewels heist.Back in 2009, the future Drag Race UK finalist was working as a theatrical makeup artist, when she was approached by two men who told her that they wanted to appear much older for a music video.What she was unaware of was that these men were Aman Kassaye and Craig Calderwood, who one hour after their appointment with La Voix, headed to the Graff diamond store on New Bond Street and held it up at gunpoint, making off with around £40 million worth of gems.“I was booked to do two men who wanted to be made to look older,” she recalled during an interview on the podcast Little Did You Know in 2021 (as reported by the Mail Online). “I was told it was for a music video.“We started doing things you could do with latex and all the ageing makeup.”Despite the men being “a little bit standoffish”, La Voix thought nothing of their request, until the following morning, when she picked up a newspaper and saw them on the front page.“’I thought, ‘That’s those two men that I did the makeup on yesterday!’,” she revealed.La Voix was later interviewed by Scotland Yard officers, to whom she handed over makeup brushes, smocks, cash and rubber masks to test for DNA, and also testified in court.Before finding fame on the sixth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK last year, La Voix had appeared as a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent and the drag singing competition Queen Of The Universe, as well as making a cameo in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie.She is currently competing on Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec, with the pair accruing enough public support to swerve the dance-off, despite appearing towards the bottom of the leaderboard for the last two weeks.READ MORE:La Voix Auditioning For Claudia Winkleman s Strictly Job Was Our TV Highlight Of The WeekendShirley Ballas Has 4 Words Of Advice For La Voix After Strictly Come Dancing Score BacklashSee The Moment The Drag Race UK Finalists Find Out Which 1 Of Them Had Won For Real Here
